How Can We Make The Masterwork Chorus A Household Name?
Last week (Feb. 13) at the annual meeting we talked about brands that have become household names. How can we make The Masterwork Chorus a household name, at least in our geographic area? How can we ensure that those activities translate into ticket sales and pledges of monetary support? What should each and every chorus member do to advance this cause?

I meant December 2008.

I saw a recent article in the Neighbor News that the Morris Choral group would be singing at a nursing home as part of its outreach to the community. Perhaps our Reach-Outs could get some publicity and exposure.
Hi Steve,
We are planning on 3 Carnegie Hall concerts in 2008, one on December 18 and a double-header on December 21. I haven’t yet seen dates for Morristown.

Someone was kind enough to show me this article about the Morris Choral Society and such publicity is wonderful. I have tried, before, to submit publicity about ReachOut afternoons (with photos, after they are over) to newspapers but have never had feedback from anyone about any articles coming out of the publicity.
I mentioned at the last development meeting (where marketing was present) that we should get someone to put articles about us in the papers where appropriate and ReachOut is a good candidate. Any volunteers to take photos or do a write-up?

All members of Masterwork should sign off their emails with
passion for choral singing (or something unique to you) and
http://www.masterwork.org -
That will help our branding.

Not about the “household name” topic, but thank you for the dates of the Messiah concerts at Carnegie Hall. I notice that December 18 is a Thursday. Is that correct, or a “typo” for December 19?
Thanks
Hi Steve,
No it’s not a typo…the third concert is a Thursday night.

Which version of the Elijah do we use? I would like to order one ahead of time.
I’m not sure that’s been determined yet, Jenny. I’ll ask Andrew and post the answer here.
Andrew’s guidance is to use the G Schirmer score, which should be cheap and easily available. Click here to find it at Sheet Music Plus.
Enjoy!

Maybe I’m too early with this question, but I’m wondering whether any dates are set yet for December 1008 Messiahs.
